EV Enthusiast of the Month: David Owen

Each month, we share a testimonial from a local EV owner. In July, we’re pleased to feature David Owen.

Why did you first decide to purchase an EV?

My wife and I decided to get an electric car for the environmental reasons, but also because of the financial savings. We had to do our part to combat climate change.

What EV(s) do you own and what do you like most about driving them?

We have a Tesla Model S, a Chevy Volt, and a BMW i3 . They are very low cost to operate. Driving is a breeze and a lot less fatiguing.

In what ways would you like to see EVs and infrastructure advance in the next 5-10 years?

I would like to see electric cars as the predominant vehicle, with most commercial transport using electric vehicles. I would also like to see charging infrastructure as a ubiquitous amenity in our region and beyond.

Anything else you’d like to add about EVs or your experience with ROC EV?

ROC EV is doing great work and advancing the cause, and it is always a fun time volunteering with them. I think EVs, while reducing pollution in cities, will also reduce noise pollution and stress levels: Which will enhance quality of life for all.
